Organizational Monitorship

New York Organizational Monitorship Attorneys

Compliance and prevention services for corporate clients throughout New York

Doar Rieck Kaley & Mack has substantial experience both as a government-assigned monitor and as a compliance contractor for private corporations and other organizations. Our role is to review existing policies and procedures with the goal of ensuring compliance with the applicable regulations. We also identify and rectify breaches of ethics and potentially unlawful conduct on the part of the organization and its employees, suppliers, contractors, subcontractors, or other parties in the business relationship.

Our Investigations Group at Doar Rieck Kaley & Mack performs comprehensive internal investigations and audits, reporting to corporate clients and, when retained to do so, government agencies seeking to ascertain the organization's compliance status. Most importantly, our Compliance & Prevention Group works closely with management to review existing procedures and identify inadequate or potentially ambiguous policies that could result in accusations of wrongdoing. We then draft a sound compliance program and assist the client in its implementation. These programs are designed to reduce the possibility of fraud or wrongdoing without affecting the efficiency or morale of the employees.

Our position as government-assigned regulators establishes much-needed credibility for our private clients.

Please visit our Recent Compliance Projects page for information on government-assigned monitorships and services to corporate clients. Our projects, for example, have included:

United States vs. Gigante 96 Cr. 466 (JSR) (S.D.N.Y.)

Based on extensive experience prosecuting organized crime cases, senior partner Walter Mack was appointed as Monitor for six defendants and 13 companies engaged in the waste disposal business. With pending indictments for RICO and antitrust violations, Mr. Mack and Ms. Rothstein monitored the defendants to prevent additional unlawful conduct and the loss of corporate assets. Assisted by a team of private auditors and investigators, our attorneys worked to address questionable activities and to develop a code of ethics for these companies.
